 Abstract

A field trial was conducted at the Hill Agricultural Research Station, Khagrachari during two consecutive Kharif seasons (summer) of 2008 and 2009 to determine the optimum level of fertilizer for achieving higher yield of Jhum morich. The treatment consisted of three levels of fertilizers (recommended dose, 50% of recommended dose and no fertilizer). The highest yield (5.48 t ha-1) was obtained from application of recommended dose (100-60-80-20 kg ha-1 N, P,K and sulphur respectively) which was statistically similar with 50% of recommended dose. The lowest yield (4.33 t ha-1) was recorded from control treatment.
