 Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the research farm of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Sher-e- Bangla nagar, Dhaka, during October 2008 to April 2009 to examine the effect of macronutrient on productivity and profitability of Bush bean seed production. Four levels each of N (0, 75, 150 and 200 kg ha-1), P (0, 50,100 and 150 kg ha-1), K (0, 40, 80 and 120 kg ha-1) and S (0,25,50 and 75 kg ha-1) formed 14 treatments. Different levels of macronutrient had remarkable influence on the seed yield plant-1. The highest seed yield plant-1 (31.37 g) and per hectare (6.94 t), net income (Tk. 6, 081, 75.00 ha-1) and benefit cost ratio (8.08) were obtained from the treatment N120 P100K80S50. Significantly the lowest seed yield plant-1 (17.1 g) and per hectare (3.80 t), net income (Tk. 310003.10 ha-1) and benefit cost ratio (5.42) were obtained under no fertilizer application treatment (N0P0K0S0).

Key words: Bush bean, Macronutrient, Productivity, Profitability
