SEED QUALITY OF BUSH BEAN AS INFLUENCED BY DIFFERENT STORAGE CONTAINERS AND CONDITIONS

 Abstract


The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University, Dhaha, 1207 during April 2008 to March 2009 by using seven storage materials viz. Brown paper bag, Cotton cloth bag, Poly bag, Gunny bag, Tin pot, Plastic pot and Earthen pot at room temperature and at 5 oC in refrigerator. Seeds stored at 5 oC in refrigerator were good and their germination percentage and vigor index were high. Seeds stored in sealed poly bag, plastic pot and tin container were also found good. Farmers can use sealed poly bag or air tight tin container and plastic pot for storing bush bean seeds.
