Abstract
The Experiment was carried out at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka during the period of November 2010 to May 2011 to study the influence of prilled urea and urea super granules on the growth and yield of hybrid rice Heera1. The treatments consisted of  six prilled urea levels viz., 0, 80, 120, 160, 200 kg N ha-1 and urea supergranules ( @ 75 kg N ha-1). PU was top dressed in three equal splits at 10, 35 and 55 days after transplanting. The USG was placed at 5-10 cm soil depth at 10 DAT in the centre of four hills in alternate rows at 1 granule in one spot.  The effect of USG showed significant variation in respect of  growth, yield contributing characters and yield. At harvest, the highest number of effective tillers hill-1 (13.63), filled grains panicle-1 (154.67), 1000- grain weight (29.35 g), grain yield (9.42 t ha-1) and straw yield (13.33 t ha-1) were obtained from the application of USG showing 10% more grain yield than PU.

Key words: Hybrid rice, urea supper granules and  prilled urea.
